CASPER The Ceremonial Association of Surrey Police (CASPER)


The Ceremonial Association of Surrey Police (CASPER) will be participating in the following planned events in 2017.


 
  • 28th May - United States Memorial Day at Brookwood Military Cemetery, where we will remember those American Service Members who fell during both World Wars and are either laid to rest or commemorated at the Military Cemetery

  • 11th November - Menin Gate at Ypres - 103rd Anniversary of the First World War. We will take part in the Poppy Parade and lay a wreath in honour of three Comrades remembered on the Memorial with no known grave. PC 20 Sidney Charles Macey of Guildford Borough Police who was killed on 2nd November 1914. And two brothers, both Surrey Constabulary officers, who died on the 11th Novemeber 1914, they are: PC 66 James Freemantle and PC 150 Thomas Freemantle.

We will also be attending the ceremony at the German Military Cemetery at Langemark, and Last Post ceremony at the Menin Gate Ypres.

  • 12th November - Rememberance Day Parade at Brookwood Military Cemetery, where we march from Pirbright Village Hall to the Military Cemetery with a Surrey Police senior officer (last year it was Chief Constable Nick Ephgrave) and join the Army Training Regiment in the act of rememberance and afterwards officers lay wreaths at various national memorials which they have connections with. Afterwards we march back to Pirbright Village hall for refreshments.
